Introduction to optoelectronics for HEP

These are a set of transparencies corresponding to a five-hour lecture given by myself in Aussois (France) in November of 98. They were part of the course: "Ecole d'Electronique Numérique" organized by the "Institut National de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particules". The lecture addressed a public of electronic engineers and physicists working in the development of data acquisition systems for High-Energy Physics (HEP) experiments. The level is introductory and practical examples from high-energy physics are discussed.
